[BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Oamaru, Monday. A stkange thing occurred at the meeting ef the Wairarapa Relief Fund Committee. Ib had been arranged that a part of the money subscribed should be given to the wife of the man Cree, said to have been drowned in the wreck of the Wairarapa, bub since then ib has been ascertained that Cree was nob drowned in the Wairarapa, and is working in Canterbury. If a man named Cree was drowned in the Wairarapa he did nob hail from Oamaru.
Westport, Saturday. The coal export for the week ending today was 3760 tons. . -.', Wellington, Saturday. The residence and dairy of Thos. Casey, of Wadestone, were destroyed by fire today, supposed to have been caused by a spark from a bush fire. The house and furniture were insured for £250 iu the Commercial Union, and tlje dairy for £20 m the Sun office. ••
