Hamilton, Thursday. Yesterday two'young men, who pave their names as John Smith and Harry Robinson, were brought before Mr. John Knox, J.P., charged with burglariously breaking into the house of Mr. Kelly, Forrest Lake, during his absence on Tuesday morning last, and stealing therefrom a gold watch, a revolver, a Eipe, and other articles. The police, on eing informed of the affair, at once telegraphed throughout the district, and word was received by the police here the same night from Constable Kavanagh, at Ngaruawahia, that he had both men in custody, having arrested them on the road between Ngaruawahia and Taupiri. When they were arrested t there were found on them several articles identified by Mr. .Kelly as his proproperty, amongst them a field glass. They were remanded till Monday next. A weasel was found and killed by Mr. P. O. Pilling, of Claudelands, running from under his house. At first he mistook it for a rat, and gave chase with his dogs, but it was found to be a veritable weasel, but whence it came no one knows. Waikato farmers will soon doubtless be called upon to face a new and mischievous pest. Mr. Rowe, who has the building of the new hotel at Frankton, for Mr. L. D. Nathan, has started work.
