[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Ciiristchurch, Saturday. At the quarterly meeting of the Canterbury Progressive Liberal Association, a motion was carried, " That) this meeting calls upon the GoTernment, if unable to obtain land otherwise, to at once brine the compulsory clause of the Lands for Settlement Act into operation, so that a large number of settlers may be located before the ensuing winter.
