London, January 7. The Pall Mall Gazette gives publication to a rumour that Sir W. Vernon Harcourt has resigned the Chancellorship of the Exchequer and that an early dissolution of Parliament is possible.
Later. Sir W. V. Harcourt's resignation is denied.
