London, January 7. It is alleged that, in pursuance of Lakki Pasha's offer of an amnesty if they would return to their homes, a delegation of sixty Armenians tendered their submission. The unfortunate people were treacherously seized by the Turks, tortured, and killed. Their bodies were then thrown into a well.
London, January 8.
The Standard's correspondent at Constantinople reports that the Sultan ordered Rustem Pasha, Ambassador in London, to telegraph the text of Mr* Gladstone's speech to the Armenian delegates. He was simply furious at the tone of the ex-Premier's remarks, which will increase the diplomatic difficulty tenfold, and probably bo, a barrier to the enforcement of reforms.
