BANK MEETING.
Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copy London, October 29. At a meeting of the English, Scottish, and Australian Chartered Bank, Mr. 0. J. Hegan, the chairman, said the Bank had never been in so strong a position as it was at the present time, The policy of the directors was to concentrate business, and retrench as much as possible.
Mr. Hegan said there was no prospect of paying a dividend for some time, and hinted at a possibility of paying off deposits in advance.
