CARROLLO. , BOYS* AND GIRLS' SIDES.— two sides of the School are quite separate, while each is under the immediate supervision of the Headmaster. The Chief Masters in each department undertake the work of the highest forms on bath side* of the School. The Girls' School is on the south side of the building, and they enjoy the use of the two lawn tennis courts. FEES.—These are : For Pupils in the Lower School, if under the ape of thirteen years, £2 l(Js per term ; for all others, £3 10s per term, except that for two members of one family, both chargeable with the higher fee, it is reduced to £3 3s each. All fees are payable in advance to the Treasurer, who attends nt the School to collect them on the first Tuesday and the following Monday in each term. COURSE OF INSTRUCTION.— ordinary course comprises the usual English subjectsMathematics (including Arithmetic, Writing, Drawing, Latin, French, and Natural Science). Greek and Germ in will be introduced should a sufficient demand arise Tho study of J.atin is optional. Book-keeping, Mensuration, and Shorthand are amongst, the alternative subjects for boys. The school offers special advantages for the study of Natural and Technical Science, the Upper Forms " having the n.*e of a well-furnished Chemical Laboratory. Science teaching is begun as early as possible. The subjects for the Lower Forms are Elementary Chemistry and Physics. In the highest form on the Boys' side the subjects taken are Chemistry (including Qualitative A"alysi->) and Klectri it y and Magnetism ; in tho highest form on the Girls'side, Botany and Heat. Tile course in Mechanical Drawing on tho Boys' side, includes Plane and Solid Geometry, followed by Working Drawings from actual machinery. Pupils who have commenced with the ordinary course may, at the beginning of anu term, substitute the alternative subjects "for Latin. Drill and Gymnastic exercises are compulsory for all not specially exempted. Class-singing is taught to those of the girls whose parents desire it. Arrangements can be made for lessons in Music outside the school hours. WORKSHOP.—lnstruction and practice is given in Carpentering, Joining, and Turning by Mr. Tre- • vii hick in the School Workshop. The classes meet in the luncheon hour and after afternoon school. Tho only charge is for the actual value of timber used. BOARDERS.—The Headmaster is. prepared to make such arrangements as will enable boys from the country to board either at his own house or with cne of the Assistant-masters. THIRD TERM, 1894. The School will Re-open on TUESDAY, September 25, at a quarter- nine. The Head Master will be in attendance at the School for the purpose of receiving parents and enrolling new pupils, from three to five p.m. on FRIDAY. September 21st, to meet parents, and again on MONDAY', September 24, at nine a.m. 'Ihe Entrance Examination, for the classification of new pupils, will he held at ten a.m. on MONDAY, September 24 th. GIRLS' SIDE. • A Class for Girls over Fourteen Years op Age has been formed, both for the higher branches of education and to prepare for tho various examinations. This Class, though held in the same building, will be kept, as at present, distinct, from the Boys' Classes, SUBJECTS OF INSTRUCTION. The year is divided into three terms of thirteen weeks each. The first term begins on the Tuesday nearest to February 1, followed by a vacation of three weeks. The remaining terms are also divided by a vacation of three weeks. The holidays occurring in term time are allowed for at the end of the last term. FEES— 3a per term over twelve years of age, and £2 2s under twelve yean. Extra subjects by arrangement. All fees payable in advance. STATIONERY, &C.— pupil pays 5s a term for the necessary school material (exclu ive of books). SCHOOL HOURS— 9.30 to 12 (Saturdays excepted), and from 1.30 to 3.30 (Wednesdays excepted).
