THAMES LICENSING COMMITTEE.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] Thames, Friday. The quarterly meeting of the Thames Licensing Committee was held to-day, and the following transfers of licenses were granted Pacific Hotel, Thames, James W. Smith to Alex Lang; Royal Hotel, Kuaotunu, Robert Campbell to John Stewart ; Diggesrs Rest Hotel, Coromandel, Fred. Park to Robert Campbell. The police reported that since the last meeting of the Committee persons who were neither travellers nor boarders have btsen found in the Queen's Hotel and Governor Bowen Hotel after closing hours, but in neither instance had any trace of drink been found. This evoked considerable discussion, bub eventually the matter was allowed to drop, without any action being taken, as it was considered that the fact of thj police reporting the occurrences would act as a warning to the licensees.
