An elderly Maori lady, one of the old school, caused a little diversion at the New Plymouth railway station, on Saturday evening last, just prior to the departure of the train for Hawera. A large crowd had collected to see the New South Wales footballers off, and, as is usually the case on such occasions, there was much crushing on the platform. The second part consisted of a farce by the Mount Albert Dramatic Club, entitled, "A Mistaken Identity." The parts were well sustained by the Misses W. and M. Taylor, and Messrs. V. K. Taylor, C. Dawson, and P. Dawson. The magnificent pen-and-ink drawing by Mr. Henry Wrigg, lately exhibited by Messrs. Upton and Co., is to be disposed of by art union, particulars of which will be found elsewhere. : Mr. Courtney's advertisement re Ponsonby Ward election appears elsewhere. Tenders are invited by the Eight Hours' Demonstration Committee for a band. A shipment of goods direct from Japan has been opened up by Messrs'. Smith and Caughey.
