The 'steamer CorOmandel did not make her usual"trip up from Cbromandel, but would leave at midnight if the weather had moderated." The Northern Company's steamer Clansman had put back to Mangonui, and is not expected to arrive here until to-morrow morning, ; A report was current yesterday that the Union Company's steamer Mararoa, which left on Wednesday afternoon for Napier, had put in under Cape Colville for shelter, but so far as could be ascertained the report was incorrect. . Our Russell correspondent tele* graphs that it was blowing a very heavy easterly gale, wiih thick rain, and tremendous high sea all,day yesterday } while out Mangonui correspondent says it was blowing a north-east gale, with rain, and a terrific sea running outside the Heads. •<
