TE AWAMUTU MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
vjvuiv JL. Wednesday, August 22. [Before Captain Jackson, B.M.] Drunkenness.—One offender was discharged with a caution. Police v. Henry Lewis.— defendant, who is the licensee of the Te Awamutu Hotel, was charged with allowing his lamp' to be unlit during the evening of the 19th inst. He pleaded not guilty, nut was convicted and fined ss, and coats 7b. Klmslyv. Noamoki.—Judgment for plaintiff for the balance of claim, lis 3d, £3 having been paid since the last Court day, W?°J. tS ]3uRST AND Co. v. J. B. Teasdale. —Mr. Greaham for the judgment creditors, explained that the Court had made an order on a judgment summons on 18th April, directing Teasdale to pay £1 on the 18th of each month. Default having been made in the instalments, due on 18th June and 18th July, Mr. Greaham had notified Teasdale that he should apply for further order. Teasdale did not appear, being laid up with illness, but had last night paid £2 to tne Clerk of the Court. Mr. Gresham said that the best proof of the debtor's ability to pay lay in the fact that, since notice he had paid the £2. Another £1 was due on the 18th instant, and the Magistrate said that if the default were continued, a fresh summons would be necessary. ________________________
