SERIOUS ACCIDENT TO A BOY.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Friday. A lad about eleven years of age, named William McFlynn, son of a settler at Hikutain, met with a nasty accident about eight o'clock last night on the main road between the Thames and Hikutaia. It appears he was proceeding to the latter place on horseback, and was cantering along with his father, who was driving a cart, when his horse stumbled over a heap of metal lying on the side of the road, with the result that the young fellow was thrown to the ground with considerable force. He was picked up in an unconscious state by his father and taken home, but as he did not regain consciousness, he was this morning brought in to the hospital and placed under the care of Dr. Williams. He still lies in an unconscious state.
