AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
STRATFORD AND HAWERA. The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited) Hawera, report on April 19:—There was a fair muster of stock at Stratford on Friday, the 13th instant. Bidding was not brisk' but still nearly every line changed hands before leaving the yards. We quote: Fat cows, £4 Is; 2J-year steers, £2 12s 6d to £3 Is 6d ; calves and yearlings, £1 3s to £1 lisstore cows, £3 to £3 12s fid ; heifers in calf', £3 Is fid to £3 16s; dairy cows, £3 lis to £4. We held our fortnightly sale in the Glover Road _ Yards, Hawera, on Wednesday, the 18th instant, when the entry of stock was again very heavy, every yard being packed with cattle. Among the lines was a quantity of good quality beef, which elicited fair competition amongst the buyers present, and every pen was sold. Stores and young stock were again dull of sale, presumably on account of the shortness of feed and tightness of money, but still, with very few exceptions, we managed to place what we had entered, though regret, if anything, the prices were a trifle lower than last sale. Sheep were again in poor demand, and what sales were effected were only at nominal prices. We quote: Fat bullocks, £5 18s to £6 2s 6d ; 2-year steers, £2 8s to £3 ■ heifers in calf, £3 I7s 6d to £4; 18-months to 2-year heifers, £2 13s; fat cows, £3 9s to £4 Bsdairy cows, £3 8s to £3 17a 6d. Sheep: Twotooth wethers, 7s 2d to 8s 3d ; lambs, 4s Id. MASXERTON. Messbs. Lowes and lorns' report a large attendance as usual at their stock sale at M&sterton. ; There was a good entry of sheep, but cattle were not well represented. The tone of the market for sheep was more healthy, and prices slightly improved, with the satisfactory result of nearly every pen being sold under the hammer. Two-tooth, mutton wethers brought 10s; fat ewes, 8s 7d; two-tooth store wethers, 7s to 7s 9d; fullmouth breeding ewes, 4s to 6s, the latter being a. nice even line and well clothed ; inferior aged ewes, 3s to 3s 9d; boilers, Is Id to 2a 6d; good lambs, 4s 9d to 5s 3d; next quality, 4s to 4s 6d ; inferior, 3s 7d. Cattle sold at about last week's rates. " Pigs : Slips, 15s; smaller, 9s to 12s. We sold a few-hacks at from £4 17s 6d to £8 8s; old mare and foal by Administrator, £10 10s; horse, trap, and harness. £17. MANAIA. Messrs. Bodge and Good Report,—We. have found no alterations in prices of stock in the last five or six sales—all classes being very low and sheep almost unsaleable. We g| held a sale for Mr. David Wilkie on tihe 18th v instant, there being a large attendance'. Both , implements and horses brought -good prices ' —draught mares selling from £23 to £28,
