WAIROA ROGBJT UNION. The annual meeting of this Union was held on Wednesday evening, in the old schoolroom, Aratapu, when the following delegates were present:—Dargaville F.C., H. Vail; Aratapu F.C., E. Bassett, J. O'Neil, and J. Stallworthy (substitute): Kopura F.C., T. Elliott, W. Holford, and J. Molloy. The balance-sheet, which had been duly audited by Messrs. Edmunds and T. Elliott, was read, and adopted on the motion of Messrs. Vail and E. Bassett. The 1893 season was begun with a deficit of £12 10s sd, and in spite of the fact that during the year the Union sent a team to Auckland at a cost of £28 9s, and paid in all £21 for steamer charters to local matches, the finances are now in a satisfactory condition, with a cash balance of £1 7s 6d to meet liabilities amounting to about £3. The principal sources of income were as follow: Donations, £11 108 6d;. club subscriptions, £6 13s 6d: concerts and dances, £17 2s; gAtes, £19 13s lOd; steamer fares, £22 2s 9d. The secretary read a copy of letter sent to Taurauga Club last September re the arrangement of a match in Auckland, and stated that no reply had yet been received. It was decided to allow the matter to stand over for one month, unless a reply be received in the meantime. The election of officers was then proceeded with, and resulted as follows :— Patron, Mr. J. A vote of thanks was given to the retiring secretary for his efficient services, and regret expressed that he cmilrl not again take the office. Mr. Stallworr!< n'ipd that ho had always given his nti-\ willingly and with pleasure, though olt-csi- .«i considerable inconvenience, but his pleasure in so doing was at times somewhat marred by a knowledge of the existence of a feeling amongst footballers and their friends which to say the least, should not exist amongst fellow men, and which did not tend to promote the best interests of the game. It was resolved, " That the Cup matches begin on Saturday, May 19th." A good deal of discussion then followed as to the best means of arranging senior and junior teams, and eventually the following resolution, moved by Mr. Stallworthy, and seconded by Mr. Vail was agreed to, "That clubs shall t on or before May ,14th, pick their best fafteens, which fifteens shall be considered as the senior teams of the clubs 'for the season. No player chosen as one of a first fifteen shall be allowed to play as a junior until he has first obtained permission from the Union. In the event of any one of the seniors being unable to play, his place may be filled by a junior, but any junior playing twice as a senior shall be disqualified from again playing as a junior until he has obtained permission from the Union." It was resolved. "That the regular meetings of the Union lie held on the first Wednesday in each month at Aratapu." It was also resolved, on the motion of Messrs. Stallworthy and Vail,"that secretaries of Clubs be instructed not to send in the names of any persons as members to the Union, until such persons have paid their subscriptions to the Club;" and on the motion of Messrs. Bassett and Vail, " that a player whose name is sent in by two Clubs shall not be allowed to play for any Club until he has obtained permission from the Union." KOPURU FOOTBALL CLUB.
