Ab the Police Court, Aratapu, before Messrs. T. Webb and M. Harding, J.P.'s, Charles De Laino was charged, on the information of Constable Scott, wibh being unlawfully on the premises of James Vercoe, in his stocking feet. The constable explained that the prisoner had by his attentions so annoyed a young lady that she had been compelled to leave the district for fear of him. The young lady had complained to him, and he had cautioned the prisoner, bub seemingly without effect. The prisoner pleaded guilty. After evidenoe had been heard, the Bench informed the prisoner that he had placed himself in a serious position, and had there been anyone in this bed the charge might have been far mow serious. Such practices as he had evidently been following could nob be allowed. The sentence would be one month's imprisonment, with hard labour.—[Own Correspondent.J
