HERR FRANCIK'S CASE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Although I should much rather prefer not to be further advertised in connection with the melodrama which took place at the Court yesterday before Mr. Northoroft, S.M., nevertheless, in justice to the inhabitance of Auckland and to myself, I am obliged to ask you to correct the following misstatements : 1. How could I be so inconsiderate after the grand reception accorded to me at the Choral Hall the other day, to say that Auckland treated me badly. I could not very well call a few so-called musical professors Auckland. Indeed, Auckland is the nicest place I have ever been to, and the inhabitants are exceeding musical, and I am decidedly very thankful to them for the very, large attendance at my ' concert, and the enthusiastic reception they accorded me, and hope to be able to spend many a day here. 2. I never mentioned Sydney at all. I am glad to state that I have done in Sydney very well, and in fact I have been well patronised wherever I went to. 3. What I meant with regard to my clothes was this : I was told before going to court that if I lost the case and could not pay at once, that I would not be permitted to leave the Court, and as I had no money with me, I thought I would rather give to my opponents my clothes before I would suffer myself to be detained at Court. And, of course, anybody could see from the very start that my part of the play was not practised up, and that I knew probably more about some unknown planet than about any law proceedings ; and, therefore, J. hope that any error with regard to statements instead of questions might be excused. Trusting you will pardon my trespassing too much upon your space.—l am, etc., Ad. Francik, Violin Virtuoso. Wynyard-street, April 6.
