CRICKET.

The match played yesterday afternoon in the Domain, between the employees of Messrs. Smith and Caughey and Messrs. Court Brothers, proved a very pleasant contest. The latter firm won rather easily. The following are the scores :—

An interesting and enjoyable cricket match was played at the r North Shore yesterday afternoon, between a team representing the Publicans and Brewers and the North Shore Club. The content resulted in ft very decisive victory for the Publicans by 200 runs. They made 254 as against 54 made by their opponents. The most noticeable ot the game was the spleudid stand made by A. and J. Seccombe, who put up no less than 180 runs between them by brilliant play, the former contributing 84 and the the latter 96. They were together at the wickets for about threee hours, and were both caught. For North Shore, Lieutenant Abdy, of the Curagoa, well-known as a dashing bat in Auckland cricket circles, put together 29 in excellent style. For the victors Lundon bowled very successfully, securing no less than seven wickets, and Wynyara was the most successful of the North Shore bowlers.
