_lessrs. Esam and Arthur's Weekly Beport.—The changes in prices are so unimportant that it is unnecessary to refer ab length it will be sufficient to report auction values. Potatoes continue a glut, and at preseut there appears no prospect of any improvement. Demand for cereals remains quiet. Fruit is in good supply; the shipment from the Islands by the Upolu arrived generally in indifferent condition, and prices were low in consequence. Fresh butter was a shade lower than last week. Potatoes : Hobarts, £210s to £3 for prime : inferior in proportion to quality: ' Magnum Bonums, £2 5a to £2 15s; demand slack. Pumpkins, £2 5s to £2 10s; piemelons, £2 5a to £210s; onions, £5 10s to £6 103, and gd to fd, market easier; Oatfc, 2s 5d to 2s 7d; wheat, 2s 8d to 2s lOd ; bran, £210s to £2 15s; maize, 2s lOd ; cheese, 3d to 4d ; fresh butter, No. 1, 7d to 9£d ; No.2,3 d to Sfd ; prime salt, 6d to 7d ; inferior, 3Jd to 4j:d ; no local bacon or hams entered, good demand. Aitken reports brisk business in farm produce, the output being large and supplies all round heavy. Prime Hobarfc potatoes fetched £3 per ton. ' Magnum Bonum and other white varieties, 30s to 50a per ton. Cow potatoes were in better demand at from 30s to 40s per ton. Onions fetched id to Id per lb ; although full supplies are received from the South, pickling onions are- in demand at Id per lb. Carrots sold at, from 30s to 40s per ton ; kumeras, £3 pel' ton. Grain: Whole flail wheat, 2s lOd to 3s; maize, 2s 8d to 2s lOd; oats, 2s 4d for short feed, Is lOdfoP local; bran, £3 ton; sharps, £3 10s: pumpkins, 50s to 60s ton; green peas, Is to Is 3d peck; French beans, 6d to Is bag; cabbage,. Is 6d to 4s sack; citron and piemelons, 2s 6d to 3s cvvt. Butter: The mild weather has caused an increased supply of fresh dairy butter, and best sold at 7d to BJd lb ; other kinds, 6d ; keg butter, 7d for prime samples, other lots unsaleable. Taranaki butte,r 7d to 9Jd lb; separator, 10% d lb; rolls in pickle, eggs, Is to Is 3d dozen. A shipment of Hobart _ fruit sold as follows : —Plums, 3s 7d to ss; pears, good order, 8s to 10s 6d ; bad order, its to 5s ease. Poultry : Full supply.
