LAW AND POLICE.
POLICE COURT.— Saturday. [Before Mr. H. W. Northcroft E.M.J Drunkenness.—Three first offenders weira fined 5s and costs or in default 48 hours' imprisonment with hard labour. Alleged Embezzlement.—Angus Macdonald was charged with having on the Bt;h January, 1894, at Parnell, then being a clerk in the employ of the body corporata of the Borough of Parnell, embezzled the sum of £2 ss. He was further charged with having embezzled the sum of £118s on the 16th January, and £4 lis 6d on the 19bh January. Mr. C. F. Buddie appeared in support of the information. He asked that accused be remanded as further investigations were being made by the Audit Department. His Worship remanded the accused for eight days.
