The Catholic Times has the following on the Knighthood of Sir Westby Perceval :— " Tho honour conferred on our AgentGeneral will be very acceptable bo persons of all shades of political opinion, and especially to our coreligionists in Christchurch, where his practical support of all things Catholic will be long remembered. lb will be a matter of • pleasure to the members of the Canterbury Catholic Literary Society, of which he was for many years a member, and for some time prior to his departure for England, president. lb is worthy of note, in connection with Sir Westby's success as a lecturer, at home, on behalf of this colony, that his debut as a Eublic speaker was made before the memera of the above society, and that he often afterwards attributed his success as a politician to the part he took in the debates of the society. This is a matter which should nob be lost sight of by many of our ambitious Catholic young <men who desire to make their mark in the world." ' The Napier Harbour Board invite tenders lev wharf piles elsewhere.
