AQUATICS.

I Teh following yachts were at Wairoa ' South during the New Year holidays:— i Venture, Minnie, Primrose, White Heather, [ Pearl, Malanoa, Manola, Kotiro, Doris, Waitanpi, Maru, White Swan, Die, Tukoa, i Sylvia, and several others. The Yvonne is on a Northern cruise. She ' was ab Russell on Tuesday. The following team have been chosen by i the Christchurch Swimming Club to repre- • sent them in the contest for the Water Polo Championship of New Zealand, to be held in the Calliope Dock, on Saturday and Wednesday, 13th and 17th instant:—J. N. Watson, D. H. Casbolt, E. W. Marsh, W. Halli- ' day, J. Patterson, G. J. C. Smart (captain), i and C. H Fox. They leave Lyttelton by the Penguin for Wellington on Saturday, , and from there take the Mahiraapua for Onchunga, at which place they are expected ' to arrive on Wednesday next. ) . AUCKLAND ANNUAL REGATTA. A meeting of the general committee of the Auckland Regatta was held last evening in ' the long room. Harbour Board offices, for the ' purpose of arranging matters in connection i with the coming regatta. There was a full i attendance of members, Mr. G. S. Kissling I presiding. A considerable amount of time . was taken up in the fixing of minor , matters. With regard to the large yacht ; race the committee decided that the course " should be round the west side of Tiritiri, out- ' side Shag Rock and Shearer Buoy, and then inside Rangitoto, and round a marked boat 1 placed between Brown's Island and Motuihi. ■ The tender of Mr. R. H. Hunter was accepi ted for the supplying of music for the day. i The secretary stat«d that he had made ap- ■ plication to the Defence Minister for the i use of the torpedo boat for the judges, i but he had not as yet received an . answer. Captain Duder was deputed to make terms for the services of a tender to the flagship.
