Thb number of civil cases heard in the I Resident Magistrate's Court, Auokland, I during the year 1893, was 2254, being SO more than last year, and the amount sued for wa« £15,000. At the Police Court there were 1755 eases heard, m against 1937 in JS92, and of this number 591 were cases of drunkenness, showing a decrease of 100 in, this class of offence.
