CALEDONIAN SPOUTS.

The Highland Sports, to be held at the Domain Cricket Ground, on New Year's Day, promise to be most successful. Entries for the various events have been received from all parts of the province. The committee have made arrangements for having the numbers of the winners hoisted on a record board, and every convenience will be afforded spectators. One of the attractions of the day will be the Highland Fling danced by a number of girl and boy pupils of Mr. D. M. Simpson, Mr. Quintan declared tho following handicap for the chief running event of the day, the Caledonian Handicap, to be three distances :-—
