DISPLAY OF FIREWORKS. HARBOUR RECLAMATION.
On Boxing' Night the London Fireworks' Company gave a grand display of fireworks on the Harbour Reclamation, Quay-street. There were from 1000 to 2000 present, while as many more had "outside tickets," in the streets and adjacent eminences. The display consisted of groups of coloured stars, rockets, golden rain, nests of snakes, and the legend " A Merry Christmas" in letters of fire, etc. The youngsters were greatly delighted with an acrobat, a veritable Salamander, who clothed in fire, went through a series of vaulting and tumbling acts on a horizontal bar. During the evening Hunter's Band played a number of choice selections. Owing to a misadventure the portrait of the Queen was not exhibited, and one or two items, but this will be remedied by the next display, on Friday evening, and some other additional attractions furnished. Some people have had a bad time at the fireworks' exhibition, as the police, yesterday morning, picked up three purses (empty) on the ground.
