A GROWL FROM A DISFRANCHISED ELECTOR.
~ i TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I don't expect commiseration, but rather to be reminded of your repeated warnings to electors. As, however, my name was on the city roll, and I voted at the Cadman-Rees election, I imagined myself secure. To my great annoyance, however, I find, when too late, myself left out. The Register Office authorities cannot or will not give* me any explanation as to why, or by whom, I have been thus disfranchised. Is no one responsible? If not it is surely about time that some re-arrangement of the system (?) was made. I find lam only one amongst many, and I hear serious threats of actions for damages, as although it may be difficult to assess the money value of a man's right to vote, it surely has a value, and ought not to be taken away at the caprice of any Jack in office. I trust you will kindly see your way to give publicity to this, as possibly it may lead to something like concerted action on the part of those injured like myself.— am, etc., J. H. Da vies, Storekeeper, Hobson-street.
