The rails are now being laid. This railway is formed right into the centre of the block, within a short distance of where the Coal is found. The second lot (38 acres) is situated quite near to the block just described. It is in the direct line of the strike of Coal, and, with regard to it, Mr. Moody states that " it is full of coal." No. 3 (88 acres) is also at a moderate distance from the first block, and the Coal seam, as found in one of the neighbouring lots, is dipping right into it. Mr. Moody reports on this that it is undoubtedly all Coal land. This block also contains about 100,000 feet of dry kauri trees, available for building or mining purposes. No. 4 (SO acres) is well within the Coal area, and Coal has been seen in sections in the immediate neighbourhood. No. 5 is in part bush land, and contains useful timber for mining purposes.
