[BYTELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] } Thames, Thursday. A special meeting of the Borough Council was hold to-night, for the purpose of considering the duties and salaries of the officials'. After a considerable amount of discussion, resolutions were carried reducing the salaries of the Town Clerk from £250 to £230, and that of the foreman of works from £175 to £I^o. A pleasing ceremony took place to-night at) the Ladies' Calisthenic Class, when the popular instructor, Mr. fl. Curtis, was presented rrith «i handsome gold ring as a token of the esteem in which he is held by the members, and in appreciation of the valuable services he has rendered to the class.
