LAW REFORM. Sydney, September 23. ,< The Cabinet has approved of a scheme for the consolidation of the statute law, and a Royal Commission, including the Judges, Attorney - General, and the Minister of Justice, will be appointed to carry it out.
THE VICTORIAN MINISTRY. Melbourne, September 23. The Hon. R. Baker, at present Honorary ; Minister, will succeed the late J. C. Campbell as Minister of Education, and will be sworn in on Tuesday. .
THE 'CYCLING SPORTS. Sydney, September 23. At the 'cycling . sports the Two Mil* Bicycle Teams Race was won by NewZealand, New South Wales second, and Queensland third.* The New Zealanders scored twelve points, and the other placed colonies' were six points each, the points being awarded on the relative positions or the men at the finish. In the race Kerr, Sydney, was first by j fives yards, with Hay ward. New Zealand, second, and *Wilmot, New ; : Zealand:* third. Time, sm. 43 l-sth s.
