His sire, the world-famed Ascetic, by Hermit from Lady Alicia, by Melbourne. Ascetic is the sire of Royal Meath, winner of the Grand Prix Steeplechase at Paris. He is also the sire of Cloister, winner of the last Liverpool Grand National Stcoplechase.
