MEETING OF THAMES SCHOOL TEACHERS.

[by telegraph—own correspondent.] Thames, Saturday. At a meeting of Thames teachers, hold in the Waiokaraka School this morning, it was unanimously decided to form a subordinate branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute. The following were elected officers :—Chairman, Mr. Horatio Phillips ; secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. C. Put-die ; managing committee, Miss Haselden, Mrs. Macky, Messrs. Newton, G. N. Phillips, and Day. The meeting unanimously resolved to forward a telegram of thanks so Mr. James McGowan, M.H.R., for the action he had taken in the matter of a scheme for the right adjustment of the salaries of colonial teachers.
