London, September 17. Mr. Tekok, actuary for the Australian Mutual Provident Society, having inquired into the British and American systems, is proposing radical changes in the colonies. The Institute of Actuaries believe that the result will be increased stability and popularity. Mr. Teece explains that the referees have devised a method of valuation giving automatic effect to a gradual reduction of the rate of interest assumed in the valuations until any required minimum has been reached. The result would be that the margin of profit would remain constant.
