[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Opotiki, Saturday. Mr. William McDonald, lessee of the Masonic Hotel, died yesterday. Wellington, Saturday. The police have received information that Frederick Shade, aged 40, was killed at Shannon yesterday. No details are to hand.
The Chief Justice dismissed the appeal brought by the Attorney-General and the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Taranaki, against the decision of the Land Board of that district.
Ciiristchuroh, Saturday. A woman named Eleanor Thornley, aged about 65, was found dead in her house last night. It is supposed the cause of death was heart disease.
Mrs. Pollen, wife of a small farmer at Brookaide, was found dead in her house yesterday. The woman had apparently been dead two days. The cause is nob yet known.
Timaru, Saturday. Ab the end of May, an elderly man named Bowman was reported missing. It was supposed he had suicided in the harbour. Yesterday a human foob was found in a stocking on the beach, a mile north of the harbour, and Mrs. Bowman recognised the stocking as her husband's.
Greymooth, Sunday. Coal export for the week, 1,646 tons; timber, 116,167 feet,, ■ .• . . v
