The Times, Pall Mall Gazette, and other newspapers demand that the British Government should take steps to prevent France proclaiming a protectorate over Siam.

It is believed that France is seeking to drive Siam to overt action as an excuse for proclaiming a protectorate over the country.
London, August 30.
The Manchester Chamber of Commerce has made a protest to Lordßosebery, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, against the French action in Siam. ___
