THOMPSON'S TRACK

[BIT TKLKGKAPH. — OWN" COItKESI* ONDKNT.] Tauranua, Wodnesday. A special meeting of tho County Council was held to-day about getting a loan to complete Thompson's track, between Katikati and To Aroha. After a prolonged discussion it was apparent that a vote for a special loan could not be carried, as an informality in voting at Te Puke was taken advantage of, and it was resolved to find the required funds out of the ordinary county funds. The cost to the county will not exceed £'25 per year t.i the local bodies, both the East (./'oast and Waikato district, and the decision of the county authorities is most favourably commented on.
