WAIKATO HOSPITAL BOARD.

Hamilton", Wednesday. At the meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board to-day there were present : The chairman (Mr. A. Primrose), and Messrs

Heauey, Herries, Jones, Ralph, Coates, MeQuirk, Smith, Lang, Anderson, and Seddon.

The secretary's report showed that the expenditure for the month was £261 '2 s 4*l, including salaries and wages, I'OT 10< ; outdoor relief, £20 4s 3d ; fuel, light, £12 13s 3d ; law expenses, £4 4< ; drugs, etc., VIA ; wines and spirits, £10 los 6d ; interments, £7 Ills; irrigating machine, £11 17s; Venetian blinds, £11 18s (id, the balance being ordinary expenditure. Charles Smith, of Te Aroha, was on the motion of Mr. Heaney, admitted into the Refuge. Mr. Anderson reported that Robert Walker, of Pukcriinu, was a tit inmate for the Refuge. Application for relief was made by Mrs. Mary Roberts, of To Aroha, whose husband had been away for six years. The house committee reported that they had received two tenders only for erection of porch and outbuildings at the doctor's residence—those of Evans, £.19, and I>. Elliott, £33 12s. They accepted neither tender, considering both too high, hut had .since made arrangements with Mr. Evans to do the work for £.'JO. Their action was confirmed by the Board. It was reported that two of the nurses were suffer-

iug from measles. It was resolved that when the patients numbered over 10 the extra services of a girl should be employed to assist the cook. On the motion of Mr. Lang, seconded by Mr. Smith, the half of the hospital fees were remitted in the case of a patient named Bukowsky.
