Paris, January 3. The Panama Committee have furnished evidence which has induced the Government to prosecute four more members of the Chamber of Deputies.

M. Andrieux threatens to act as plaintiff if the Government drop the prosecution.

M. Ferdinand De Lesseps, on being informed of the arrest of Charles De Lesseps in connection with the Panama Canal Company's disclosures, was deeply moved. He declares that political intrigues ruined the company. M. Floquet intends to resign. The arrest of four members of the Chamber, including a former Minister, has been sanctioned, on charges of bribery. M. Lockroy advises France to adopt the American system of Government. The Colombian Government insists that the Panama Canal Company shall pay the debt of £320,000 without delay.
