Fisher and Croxford were now together, and gavb the field a merry time, many of their hits worth two or three scoring only singles owing to the smartness of the field. Croxford, in attempting a great hit oil Upham, missed the leather and he paid the penalty (7 for 77). Hope joined Fisher. The latter opened his shoulders to Frith and drove him thrice to the boundary for four, and a fourth four would have been scored only the ball got up and Arthur Blacklock, who was fielding near the boundary in the lons field made a magnificent catch (8 for 93). Fisher had a merry innings, his score of 19 including four fours. Stronach joined Hope, and at the luncheon adjournment the store stood 8 for 99.
