ARRIVAL OF THE VICE-REGAL PARTY.
The ▼ice-regal party, consisting of His Excellency the Governor and Lady Glasgow, Miss Hallowes, Captain Hunter-Blair and Mr. Clayton, A.D.C.'a, arrived on Saturday evening, in the Manukau, by the s.s. Takapuna, from Wellington, after a fine passage. A" special carriage was attached to the ordinary passenger train - for the accommodation of the party, and they came on to Auckland. We understand that Lord and Lady Glasgow have enjoyed their trip to Canterbury very much, and were favoured with fine weather both going and returning. His Excellency and Lady Glasgow will remain in Auckland for about a month, and leave for Wellington on the 20th of December, the intention being to spend the Christmas and New Year holidays at the seat of Govern On Saturday the Ladies Boyle and Mr. George Gillington (Assistant Private Secretary), were present at the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club Sport® in the Government Domain. Yesterday forenoon His Excellency, Lady Glasgow and suite, attended Divine service at St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, and in the evening- I ord Glasgow and some of the members of the family attended the evening service at St. Paul's Church. The Governor's private secretary, Colonel Pat. Boyle, is expected from Rotorua tomorrow. We understand that he has been greatly benefited by his visit to the Rotorua Sanitorium and the course of baths which he has taken.
On Friday evening next the vice-regal party will attend the concert) in the Choral Hall in connection with St. Mary's Church, which is being held under the patronage of Lord and l-ady Glasgow. Lord Kelburne (Lord Glasgow's eldest son) is a passenger by the s.B. Manapouri, due to morrow from Sydney.
