THE RELATIONS OF CAPITAL AND LABOUR.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS association]. Christchokch, Friday. At a meeting of the Employers' Association to-day, Mr. W. Reece, president, delivered a long address. He deplored the want of men as leaders of labour organisations who felt their enormous responsibility, and were not anxious for self glorification. Hestrongly advocated a system of arbitration in all cases of dispute between employers and employed, and regretted that a workable Bill dealing with that question had not been passed last session. He favoured a system of profitsharing by a bonus on profits, paid to labourers at the end of each year in proportion to the work done by each, a portion to be reserved as a sick and benevolent fund.
