PURGING THE ROLL.
CITY OF AUCKLAND. The Court appointed for the hearing of objections in connection with the city of Auckland electoral roll, sat at the R.M. Court yesterday. Dr. Giles, R.M., presided. Eighty-seven cases were dealt with, a large number of persons (60 per cent.) having their names removed, inasmuch as they were proved nob to be the owners of the properties attributed to them. Several cases were allowed to stand, the Registrar having searched the titles and made the necessary alterations. Mr. A. R. T. Haultain was in attendance. Henry John Little, Union-street, said he had been a resident in the district for 17 years. He held a freehold, and had given all possible information at the electoral office.
