The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to-day, show the total reserve to be £15,568,000, being £5,888,000 below that of last week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 4172. Consols are 972. Three-months' bills are discounted at 1J per cent. New Zealand 4-per-cent. inscribed stock is 1044; 34-percent, ditto, 96. New Zealand Long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, is 33s 3d. Canterbury frozen mutton is 4Jd per lb; Wellington, 3|d; New Zealand beef, forequarter, 4d. New Zealand hemp is firm at tbe recent South Australian wheat, ex warehouse, is firm at 34s 6d, and Victorian, ex warehouse, is firmer at 33s 9d. For Australian cargoes, new crop, early shipment, 35s is asked; buyers oner 345. , ■■ ' Danish butter is quoted at 136s per owt Colonial barley is 24s 6d; oats, fine quality, U6s 9d; beans, 36s 6d. j> Q Sugar" : German beet, 13s 3d; Sydney and Java steady at 15s 6d..
