The monthly meeting of the Paparata Band of Hope was held in the church on Thursday evening, 6th October. Captain White (Salvation Army) occupied the chair. The meeting was opened with a hymn and prayer by the captain, after which the following programme was rendered, viz. :—Recitation, Samuel Ferguson; recitation, Lucy Lindsay; solo, Miss M. Buttimore; recitation, Hannah Balme; hymn 142; recitation, Charles Buttimore; recitation, James Ferguson; solo, Miss Martin ; recitation, George Balme; hymn 76 ; address by the chairman; recitation, Willie Buttimore; recitation, Miss Nellie Long ; clarionet solo, Mr. Wright; solo. Miss M. Buttimore ; recitation, Mr. J. Long; recitation, Miss Martin. The meeting was closed with hymn 10 and prayer.
