Messes. Esam and Arthur's Weekly Report.—Potatoes: Stocks are light, though prices show but little improvement. We quote Southern at £2 5s to £2 10s ex store; Waikato, £110s to £2 ss; new Shepherd's, gd to |d ; kidneys, l£d ; maize, 2s 9d to 2s lOd; oats, 2s 7d ; bran, £4 ss; shams, £4 ss. Onions very scarce, unquotable, except for Californian, at 3£d to 4d. Butter : Prime fresh in good supply, market rather weak, No. 1, 6|d to 7£d ; No. 2, 6d to 6£d ; keg butter, demand fallen off, average value 6£d to 8d; eggs, 6£d to 7d. Hams and bacon: Local supplies good at 4id to 7d and 4d to 5Jd respectively ; demand for Southern factory has been large. Cheese sells readily at 5d to s£d. Fruit: Hobart apples, 7s to 10s 6d ; local lemons, 4d to 7d ; loquats, 2Sd to 4d ; passion fruit, 5Jd. Poultry: Fowls, Is Id to 2s 2d : roosters, Is 8d to 2s 6d; ducks, Is 6rl to 2s Id. Mr. Alex. Aitken's Weekly Report.— Business has been brisk in all kinds of produce. Potatoes, £2 to £2 2s 6d, ship's side; £2 5s to £2 15s, ex store. Onions : Very scarce ; prime local, 2£d to 3d ; Californian, 4d; for Victorian, to arrive per s.s. Warrimoo, 2Jd to 3d is being asked. Wheat is quiet at 3s ex store ; bran, £4 5s ; sharps, £4 10s ; oats, short feed, 2s 7d to 2s 9d: maize, 2s 7d ex wharf, 2s lOd ex store ; kumeras, 4s 6d to ss; pumpkins, 6s to 7s 6d ; new kidney potatoes, l|d to lsd; Shepherds,poor samples, *d to d; vegetables realised high prices green peas, Is 9d to 2s 9d per peck. Butter : 'rime, 6Jd to 8d ; medium, 6£d to 6Jd: keg butter, nominal quotation, 7d to Bd. Cheese: Good dairy, 5d to ssd ; prime factory, 6d; loaf, 7d. Honey : Section, 3d to 4d; bulk, 2id to 2f d ; clover, 2lb tin, 5d per lb. Eggs : Hen, 6d to 6fd; duck, 7d to 7£d. Bacon : Prime, 6d to 6id ; poor, 4d to sd. Hams : choice, 7&d to 8d ; medium, 5d to 6d. Lard, 4£d to sa. Fruit: Lemons, large 6d to BJd, small 4d to 5Jd ; oranges, Sydney 8s to 8s 6d ; Mandarins, 10s 6d; Island oranges, 9s; apples, Hobart, 9s 9d to lis 6d ; loquats, 3d to 4Jd; gooseberries, 3d to 4d.
