A TIMARU BANKRUPTCY CASE.
[BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Timaru, Wednesday. Judge Ward has been occupied the most of the last two days over the public examination of I). M. Ross and W. M. Si ray, commission agents. Bankrupt Ross was ih the box for about twelve hour.s in all. The inquiry disclosed that he had for years used for hu own purposes money entrusted to him and the firm for investment on mortgages, and that false statements had been made to the owners of the money as to its whereabouts. If not immediately invested the money was banked to the firm's current account. This was nearly always heavily overdrawn, and ohe'of "those"aumfiXreTefred to) never came, out again, the firm paying interest on them. Some large sums were absorbed in this way. Sims swears that he knew very little of these things, and Ross admits lift, did not. The cases were adjourned till the 30th, charge to be formulated in the meantime.
