THE INSTITUTE OF ACTUARIES.

Frank Allen, supervisor of the N.Z. examinations of the Institute of Actuaries of London, received by the San Francisco mail a list of candidates who passed the colonial examinations held in April last. The examinations were held on the 29th and 30th April, 1892, at Montreal, Melbourne, Sydney, and Wellington, with the following result :—Part I. Twenty nine candidates sent in their names, of whom 22 presented themselves, and 10 passed as follows : Class 1. C. E. Adams, Canterbury College, N.Z. ; A. Blackadar, Montreal ; E. E. Hardcastle, Canterbury College, N.Z. Ciiass 2. N. C. Home, Montreal ; P. Muter, Wellington, N.Z. ; J. J. Stuckey, Melbourne; H. W. Myers, Melbourne; R. A. Paull, Melbourne; H. V. Townsend, Melbourne. Part 11. Three candidates sent in their names and presented themselves, of whom two passed as follows : Class 1. None. Class 2. None. Class 3. J. Holliday, Montreal ; E. M. Moore, Sydney. Part 111. One candidate sent in his name, but did not present himself for examination.
