[from our own corrkspondexts. ] Hamilton, Tuesday. An accident happened to a man named Samuel Stewart yesterday. He is employed as a labourer at the Rukahia Station, and while at work fell from a dray and broke his collarbone. He was admitted to the hospital late last night. The Bum of £9 2s 3d was collected at the offertories at St. Peter's Church, in aid of the funds for relieving the sufferers by the fire at Newfoundland.

A vacancy having occurred for the Taotaoroa Riding of the Piako County Council, nominations will be received by the Returning Officer on or before the 13th inst. Tawhark, Tuesday. Hβ was thrown from his buggy, and dislocated his shoulder, chipping one of the shoulder bones. Dr. Cooper re-set the shoulder, and Mr. Mills will soon be able to be about town again.
