MR. SEDDON'S VISIT TO AUCKLAND.
[by telegraph. OWN* CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Friday. The Hon. Mr. Seddon who was to have left here to-day for Auckland, has been delayed by pressure of Departmental business. He hopes to be able to go North by this day week. His visit will be chiefly in connection with co operative railway works in the Auckland district, which he desires to inspect, and with matters connected with the Mines Department. He will inspect tho Thames, I'uhipuhi, and Coromandel goldtields, and inquire into the schemes now engaging attention at tho Thames for the extension of the Moanataiari tunnel and the inauguration of deep sinking on the Victorian system, tiovernment assistance is asked in these undertakings.
