New Zealand dairy farmers (says a writer in the European Mail) ought to be well pleaded on the whole, considering the reception given here to the butter and cheese of the colony. In regard to the former commodity, it is finding preferential acceptance in the wholesale markets over the leading continental brands. Yet in certain circles there are complaints of the fact that though the Hew Zealand butter undoubtedly sells well in the market, retail consumers cannot find any place, much less places, where ib is ostensibly vended. In fact, it really seems very much like the frozen mutton business, as that was of yore, once again. Of course, for wholesale buyers to act thus is unfair to the colony.
