The American crops are in a backward state, and it is estimated there will be a decrease in the yield in the seven chief States of twenty million bushels. The Times says all the English crops are in a backward state owing to drought, and that the situation is critical. The Standard says there is little chance of the wheat yield in England consisting of anything but passable quality.
