THE GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] Wellington, Saturday. The rumour that this Department is to be put under the control of the lion. Mr. Cad man turns out to be correct. The process of reorganisation has been under consideration for some time. The motive of this new arrangement is stated to be economical. There has been some waste in the arrangement hitherto subsisting. Several branches of work, such as lithographing, bookbinding, and other*, have been carried on separately in Government Buildings. One idea is to bring all the cognate branches of the printing fade under one roof. There is to be classification, but as to the nature or direction of it I have not been able to elicit any reliable information. it should be remembered that the Government printing office covers several very important store departments, as blue book- 1 , scientific reports, and stationery. These will undergo a thorough overhauling.
